Job Description:
The Project Lead role is a key position and will support the Council by playing a leading role in the Capital programme Place Portfolio team. This team manages and delivers town centre and public realm improvement works, community building refurbishment projects, and the active travel programme.
We are looking for a Project Manager who is self-reliant and driven individual who has excellent knowledge and practical delivery experience of Capital Works projects.
The candidates will:
Have experience in the construction industry managing and delivering capital projects.
Lead the development and delivery of significant projects within the Capital Programme.
With support from the Programme Manager and Capital Portfolio Manager, design manage exemplary projects across any or all stages of programme life-cycle.
Lead the procurement and management of a single large contract or multiple smaller contracts at any or all project life-cycle stages from initial feasibility to completion and asset handover. This will include the procurement and management of professional services, capital works and service contracts.
As necessary, lead and manage a team.
Actively manage, develop and mentor team members.
Be responsible for moving projects through the Council’s Governance processes and project gateways.
Manage project stakeholders from public, private or regulatory backgrounds, negotiating outcomes for the benefit of the council.
