Job Description:
Project Planning: They participate in project planning sessions to understand the project scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
Site Assessment: Conducting site assessments to understand the terrain, environmental factors, and any challenges that might affect the erection process.
Coordination: Collaborating with other engineering disciplines such as civil, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure smooth integration of mechanical components within the power plant structure.
Material Procurement: They are responsible for procuring necessary materials, equipment, and tools required for the erection process. This involves coordinating with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
Erection Strategy Development: Developing detailed erection strategies and methodologies for various mechanical components of the power plant such as boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, and piping systems.
Supervision: Supervising the erection process to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This includes overseeing the work of contractors, subcontractors, and construction workers.
Quality Assurance: Implementing quality assurance procedures to ensure that all mechanical components are installed correctly and meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Safety Management: Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel involved in the erection process. This involves conducting safety inspections, providing safety training, and addressing any safety concerns or incidents that arise during construction.
Progress Monitoring: Monitoring the progress of the erection activities and addressing any delays or issues that may arise to ensure that the project stays on schedule.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of all erection activities, including daily progress reports, quality inspection records, safety incident reports, and as-built drawings.
Commissioning Support: Providing support during the commissioning phase by assisting with the testing, startup, and optimization of mechanical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably.
Client Communication: Acting as a point of contact for the client and providing regular updates on the progress of the erection activities, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
