Job Description:
Prepare substation projects from conceptual design through to construction support
Prepare electrical design packages which include one-line, site plan, electrical plan & sections, grounding plan & details, conduit plan and details, control house plan, control house grounding plan & details, lighting plan, lightning protection plan, and bill of materials (BOM)
Assist in developing plot plans and elevation drawings for outdoor substation equipment
Develop Switchgear room and Control room layout drawings for substation projects
Work closely with peers to ensure accurate delivery and thorough electrical design that will meet industry standards and specifications and meet good engineering practices
Lead projects and provide regular progress updates from conception through construction and commissioning, including overseeing and mentoring junior engineers and designers
Perform calculations and studies which include power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, arc flash, power factor, grounding analysis, and other related studies
Support the preparation of proposal writeups, material and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling for responses to RFPs
Maintain good working relationships with internal groups that support projects such as other Engineering disciplines, Drafting, Procurement, Construction and Project Management, etc.
Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members
